What is an Investor Visa?
An Investor Visa is a long-term residence visa for investing in the UAE's economy. The simplest way to obtain this visa is by opening a deposit in a UAE bank of at least 2,000,000 AED, approximately 545,000 USD, with an annual interest rate of about 5%. The visa is valid for 10 years, and is known as the "Golden Visa for Investment."
The Investor Visa allows you to:
- Reside in the UAE with the option to leave the Emirates for any period without losing resident status
- Apply for residency for all family members and domestic staff
- Obtain your Emirates ID and enjoy all the benefits available to residents: rent property long-term, enroll children in local schools and nurseries, get a SIM card, and access resident discounts
- Open a resident bank account
- Gain tax resident status with no income tax, capital gains tax, dividends, and property tax.
Visa Application Procedure
1. Make a deposit
Choose a bank and deposit 2,000,000 AED or more. You'll need a confirmation of investment from your bank to apply for the visa. The deposit can be in the form of investment bonds. Note that the funds must be deposited for at least 2 years.
2. Apply for the visa
Submit your visa application and pay the government fee. You must be in the UAE and have a temporary visa to apply for the Golden Visa.
3. Undergo a medical examination
Complete a basic medical examination at one of the UAE's certified centers, including tests and a chest X-ray.
4. Receive your visa and Emirates ID
Obtain your long-term visa and Emirates ID. Visas are now electronic, so a physical visa sticker in the passport is not required.
